Biography:

Dr Basinyi is a heritage scholar with a multidisciplinary background. She studied Archaeology at the University of Botswana, completed an MA in Culture and Environment in Africa at the University of Cologne, and holds a PhD in Heritage Management from Justus Liebig University (Giessen). Before joining the University of York, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Advancing Womxn Fellow at the University of Cape Town, based in Archaeology and the Human Evolution Research Institute.
