I am a postdoc in the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN), where I develop novel in vitro cell models to study neurodegenerative diseases including motor neuron disease and frontotemporal dementia. My research focus is understanding the earliest changes and neuroprotective responses occurring before symptom onset in asymptomatic relatives of familial patients who carry genetic risk factors. I hope to use this to develop new therapeutic strategies.
