Biography:

Henrice Altink specialises in the modern Caribbean. She has worked extensively on gender in Jamaica during and after slavery and has also explored other social inequalities, in particular race and colour. She is a former co-editor of Women’s History Review and the co-founder of the Interdisciplinary Global Development Centre at the University of York and currently chairs the university’s Academic Women’s Forum.
