
Biography:
A lecturer in education, and Director of the British Academy Research Project ‘Childhoods and Play: The Iona and Peter Opie Archive’, Yinka’s research combines contemporary, historical and archival studies of children’s play and cultural worlds. Her co-produced, participatory and creative projects address issues of identity, visibility, diversity and representation, informing her work as an author of nonfiction Black history texts for children, young people and intergenerational audiences.
