Jan Hardman, Professor of Language Education at the University of York, specialises in classroom discourse, dialogic pedagogy, and teacher education. Her research includes a large-scale randomised controlled trial of dialogic teaching intervention to improve classroom talk, engagement, and student attainment in disadvantaged English primary schools. She also contributes to staff professional development in teaching and learning across educational levels.
