Underrepresentation creates unique, systemic barriers that standard university frameworks often overlook.

To tackle this, Raj Mann and Dr Karisha George are leading a new project titled ‘Demystifying Academia – Co‑designing a Development Programme for Global Majority Early Career Researchers’.

Commissioned by the White Rose University Consortium, the team will be hosting confidential, 60-minute online focus groups to understand how to better prepare and support Global Majority postgraduate researchers and those up to 10 years post-PhD for a successful academic career.

By taking part, your insights will directly shape a new pilot programme designed to dismantle these barriers, and you will also connect with 6–8 peers in a supportive, confidential space. Participants will receive a £20 voucher as a thank-you.
