Further information

The White Rose University Consortium is inviting contributions to shape new initiatives aimed at supporting researchers across its member institutions. Over the next three weeks, a series of  Invitations to Quote (ITQs) will be released, each focusing on a distinct area of researcher development and wellbeing.

These opportunities are designed to foster inclusive, responsive, and regionally tailored support systems. The Consortium encourages individuals and organisations with relevant expertise to engage with the following calls:

  • Release – Monday 20 October, Closing Date – Sunday 9 November 23:59
Supporting Researchers Returning from Parental Leave
To support researchers returning from parental leave, we’re commissioning a project to identify effective, no-cost strategies across our institutions and the wider sector. By engaging directly with returning staff, the project will explore resource-conscious initiatives that help them thrive.
  • Release – Monday 27 October, Closing Date – Sunday 16 November 23:59
Developing Regional Support for Emotionally Demanding Research
Researchers in emotionally demanding fields face distinct challenges. This initiative aims to uncover best practices, gauge interest in a regional support network, and explore pilot programmes to better support their wellbeing and professional resilience.
  • Release – Monday 3 November, Closing Date – Sunday 23 November 23:59
Demystifying Academia: Co-Designing a Development Programme for Global Majority Early Career Researchers
This initiative will focus on exploring best practices across our institutions and the wider sector, with the aim of co-designing a pilot programme that supports Global Majority Early Career Researchers in navigating and advancing within academia.

Interested parties are encouraged to respond to the ITQs as they are released.

Together, we can shape a more supportive and inclusive research environment across the region.
