Biography:
James is manager of the NERC UNRISK CDT unrisk-cdt.ac.uk. He previously managed 3 EPSRC CDTs: Low Carbon Technologies; Bioenergy; Water-WISER.
James is also an artist and science communicator. He has illustrated books including “Yorkshire’s Amazing Dinosaur Coast”. His art has featured on the cover of the journal Nature. He uses art to inspire climate action e.g. the project “Dreams of a Low Carbon Future” and a film “No One Is An Island”. He was shortlisted for: NCCPE Engage Awards (2014); IIASA international prize for visioning positive futures (2022).
