The University of Leeds Careers Service, in collaboration with the White Rose University Consortium, successfully hosted the PhD Careers Fair 2024 on Tuesday 11 September. Held at the Parkinson Building, the event saw an impressive turnout of 150 Postgraduate Researchers from the White Rose Universities (Leeds, Sheffield, and York).
Event Highlights:
- Networking with leading employers: Attendees engaged with representatives from a diverse range of industries and institutions, forging valuable connections.
- Exploring career opportunities: Participants gained insights into various career paths, job openings, and internships specifically designed for PhD students.
- Expanding networks: The fair provided a platform for researchers to connect with peers from across the White Rose Universities.
The event featured a range of companies such as Awerian, British Library, C-Capture, Brilliant Club, Civil Service, National Nuclear Laboratory, DWP, Conception X, NHS Leadership Academy, JBA Consulting, CGFI (UK Centre for Greening Finance), Pharmaron, and Zio Health.
The PhD Careers Fair 2024 was a testament to the collaborative efforts across the White Rose institutions. The consortium would like to thank the University of Leeds for opening this opportunity to all PGRs across York and Sheffield. The fair significantly boosted the career prospects of the attending researchers.
Building on this success, we are excited to announce our support for the 2025 Careers Fair. Further details will be shared in an upcoming White Rose University Consortium newsletter.
