News – Bio-NMR: How can it help your research?

The University of Leeds workshop on 23rd March 2015

The workshop was a day-long event focusing on biological NMR research in the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York with special emphasis on new bio-NMR projects and promoting interdisciplinary collaborations within White Rose network. The programme was organised into the morning plenary session, poster session and three parallel round-table sessions with distinguished plenary speakers. The plenary lectures and round-table sessions were mainly focused on three bio-NMR topics: drug design and discovery (with Prof Alex Breeze, UoL as a plenary speaker and a round-table chair), RNA-protein interactions (with Dr Michael Plevin, UoY) and in-cell NMR (with Dr Phil Selenko, FMP Berlin). A number of PhD students and young career researchers presented their research on the poster session. The workshop attracted approximately 60 participants from the three universities, who had various opportunities to share their research efforts, technical experience and vision with each other.
The event was sponsored by the Astbury Centre for Structural Molecular Biology,, Wellcome Trust PhD program, White Rose University Consortium and BioSilta Ltd.
