About the Event
Papers are requested from PGRs interested in social movement vis-à-vis the choices behind Veganism and Vegetarianism. This event seeks to open discussion in the area of social change, therefore welcomes papers from those exploring people’s reasons for their changes in diet and the responses in farming, businesses and manufacturing to the social changes taking place. Further, papers are welcome from those exploring people forming and joining social movements which incorporate Veganism and Vegetarianism.

Call for Papers
We welcome abstracts from PGR students who feel that their research fits within one or more of the following themes:
- Veganism and/or Vegetarianism as lifestyle choice(s).
- Veganism and/or Vegetarianism as a social movement(s).
- Social change and corresponding changes vis-à-vis Veganism and/or Vegetarianism.
- Changes in farming, business practices and manufacturing in response to changes vis-à-vis Veganism and/or Vegetarianism.
- Animals and human interactions.
The aim of this day is to support postgraduate research students working within the field of social movements vis-à-vis Veganism and Vegetarianism. It offers the chance to share ideas in a supportive and friendly environment, whilst also providing an important opportunity to network. COVID-19: this is a hybrid event with the possibility of attending online or in person. Those attending in person need to have an NHS COVID passport and are requested to have undertaken a lateral flow test (no proof required) within 24 hours of the event. Face coverings should be worn by all non-exempt adults in common areas.
